He was alongside several other heads of state on the continent such as Macky Sall from Senegal, Nana Akufo-Ado from Ghana, Roch Marc Christian Kaboré from Burkina Faso, Dénis Sassou Nguésso from Congo Brazzaville. All honored with their presence at the investiture ceremony of their Côte d’Ivoire counterpart.
« I took part on December 14, 2020 alongside my peers in the investiture ceremony of my brother and friend Alassane Ouattara, President of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, » Faure Gnassingbé said on his Tweeter account.
The Togolese number 1, who just after the final proclamation of the results of the elections in Côte d’Ivoire congratulated his counterpart, during this trip, renewed his compliments and wished the invested President success.
« I took this opportunity to reiterate to him on behalf of the Togolese people and on my own behalf, my very warm and warm congratulations and assure him of my firm conviction to work together with him for the development of our two countries and of our community space, ”said President Faure Gnassingbé.
It should be noted that the Togolese President also visited Conakry in Guinea on Tuesday, December 15, where he attended the inauguration ceremony of his Guinean counterpart, Alpha Condé, reelected for a third term at the head of his country.
