Lomé, 20 November 2025- (©AfreePress)- As the TotalEnergies Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations approaches, New World TV S.A. (NWTV), the exclusive media rights holder of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the 2023–2025 cycle, is convening a strategic seminar in Lomé for public and private broadcasters. The meeting is scheduled for 21 and 22 November in the Togolese capital.
According to NWTV, the purpose of the seminar is to brief national television stations and private operators on the procedures for accessing broadcast rights, which remain free for all broadcasters in Sub-Saharan Africa, as was the case during AFCON 2023. The session will also outline the contractual obligations of partners holding specific rights, as well as the technical and editorial requirements necessary to ensure broadcasts meet international standards.
The seminar will additionally mark the official start of the countdown to the opening ceremony of AFCON Morocco 2025, set for 21 December. This symbolic milestone ushers in an eagerly anticipated edition, both for African football enthusiasts and for professionals across the audiovisual sector.
As CAF’s exclusive partner for major competitions from 2023 to 2025, New World TV holds all broadcast rights for Sub-Saharan Africa. These rights cover free-to-air television in all languages, as well as pay-TV rights in English, Spanish, Portuguese and several local languages.
Regarding pay-TV rights, NWTV’s statement notes that sub-licences—granted with CAF’s approval—have been issued to Supersport for English-speaking territories, and to Aram and other operators for specific languages, following the same model applied during the 2023 edition.
Framed as a celebration of Africa’s rich footballing heritage, the initiative aims to highlight the continual evolution of AFCON, now one of the most widely followed sporting events worldwide. NWTV seeks to promote broader, more structured and more inclusive coverage of the continent’s premier sporting spectacle.
